Purpose and Reason:

The Department has amended the Behavioral Healthcare Regulations to include the Behavioral Health Acute Stabilization Unit as contained in Section 40.0: Residential and the Rhode Island System of Care Model in Section 38.0 of the abive referenced regulations. The Department has also amended, revised, and repealed portions of these regulations as contained in Sections: 1.0 Definitions, 9.0 Staff Competency, 24.0 Bio-Psychosocial Assessment and Part IV: Services and Programs, Section 29.0 Emergency, Crisis Intervention, and Crisis Stabilization Services, 30.0 Medication and Laboratory Services, 32.0 Services for Persons with Co-occurring Disorders: Integrate Co-Occurring Treatment, 41.0 Community Support Programs, and Section 45.0 Opioid Treatment Programs. These regulations as filed and adopted are identical to the emergency regulations filed April 19, 2010, effective May 8, 2010.
